It really irritates me that in the year 2022, we still have fairness cream, I can't believe that's real thing. I can't believe that this is being sold and bought and nobody says much about it and you know I think that it's really racist and anti-woman and I say anti-woman for a reason because fairness cream commercials for men are pretty basic, they're not evil they're just dumb. Fairness cream commercial for men are on same template. It is the journey of “yr bandi nahi mil rahi” to “bata teri us bandi se baat chalaw”. The guy suddenly transforms into a handsome man after applying those 2 drops of magical cream and becomes quite popular in women.

However, Fairness cream commercials for women will dig deep into woman's deepest insecurities, they will hit where it hurts, they are freaking horrible alright, they'll always show you the sad girl, it’s really sad. You know it takes nanoseconds in the ad for you to establish that she is sad, you already feel bad for her, you look at her face and that's not even a real shade, that's not a real color, nowhere on this tiny magical planet has there ever evolve the species who is charcoal gray and I look at her and I'm like “ye Yami Gotam hai, mai pehchanti hun isse ye gori hai, mujhe bewakuf mt smjho”

 

In the ad nobody in her life is nice to her everyone just casually insults her like other women in college come up to her and say things like” tum tou kaali ho, who will come to the prom with you”.

 

so she has to accept that, she can't help it, so she's like what do I do. She goes to look for a job, she doesn't get the job, she asks “hey why can't I get the job” they are like “ wooooo…. Wo boss ko aap item nahi lgti. Upper management ka kehna hai k apke under ki chamiya ko jgaw. Wo bol rahe the k aap mai aur nana patekar mai srf til ka farak hai”. She has to accept that also.

 

 

Then comes the most exciting part of the ad, she goes home devastated and her sister helps her out. Instead of giving some sensible solutions, she says if you are dark, apply this magical fairness cream. This will be your emancipation. She rubs it on her face, seven weeks later she is a source of light. Children are found studying under her light. It is disgusting.
